Now is a great time to give!

Miss Hall’s is boldly meeting the challenges of the year ahead in a variety of ways.

On December 1, we are asking our community to support the wellbeing of our students by making a financial contribution to the myriad counseling, wellness, and health programs at Miss Hall’s. Kate Fonyo Pisano ’81 has stepped forward with a bold, Giving Tuesday challenge: gifts up to $10,000 will be matched by another $10,000 in support of our students’ wellbeing! Double your impact today!

Alongside the Annual Fund for MHS and the Endowment that supports our mission in perpetuity, our student-led Community Action Fund addresses needs that arise for students, faculty, and staff as a result of COVID-19.

As you consider how you might make a difference, know that the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act – the CARES Act, as it is informally known – includes two legislative provisions designed to encourage charitable giving. The first allows for the deduction of up to $300 in giving this year, whether the taxpayer itemizes their taxes or not. The second raises the deduction from 60% to 100% of charitable giving for those who itemize in 2020, relative to adjusted gross income.

Matching gifts

Many employers match dollar-for-dollar the charitable gifts their employees make — so your $100 contribution can easily turn into a $200 or even $300 gift with a match from your company. Some companies also match gifts made by retirees and spouses.

You can request matching gift information from your human resource officer. If they use a matching gift form, please email it to Anne Frame in the Advancement Office.

Use the search bar below to quickly discover if your employer matches charitable gifts.
